Knitting Content at Last!

Yes, that’s right, I finally have a knitting related post! And not only that, but a knitting related post about a beautiful shawl that I was lucky enough to test knit and do the photo shoot for!

Children of Lir Shawl - FINISHED

This is the Children of Lir shawl by Megan Bayonet of from Fuzz to Finish designs (megweaver on Ravelry). It’s a square-ish shawl (I say square-ish because one side turned out 48.5″ and the other 40.5″ so not exactly square) with beautiful motifs using lace weight yarn.

I won’t lie to you and say it’s an easy pattern – it’s definitely not for the faint of heart! – but the results are stunning and it looks beautiful on!

My sister loved it so much that I decided to give it to her (aren’t I a nice sister?) and she has already worn it multiple times in the last few days she’s had it. And received compliments on it as well! People keep asking her where she bought it. 😉 We had a great time at the shoot, if you can’t tell!

This one took me months to finish, but really mostly because we moved right when I was in the middle of a really tough part and picking it up for small periods of time here and there seemed impossible. Then I hurt my thumb and wasn’t able to knit on it until a few weeks ago when I picked it up again. I hadn’t touched it at all since June 30 prior to that point! But I’m really glad to have been able to finish it as it just looks lovely, no?

Gorgeous shawl and gorgeous photos of gorgeous sister! Glad to see you’re knitting again and I love when people ask “where did you buy that?” Really is a lovely pattern. Is it 2-sided knitting, or can you rest a row? Have fun at Rhinebeck (with your mom, right?)

Thanks Julie! It is 2-sided knitting for parts of it but not all of it. I’m excited for Rhinebeck too! It’s too bad you can’t come though I’m meeting up with Elizabeth there. 🙂

That shawl is gorgeous! Pretty design, and I love the color so much! I’ve not yet made a square(ish) shawl, but maybe I’ll do this one when it comes out.
